Process

Typical Process Flow

A representative sequence. Final stage design depends on the products, coating system, and facility constraints.

  1. Load
  2. Degrease
  3. Rinse
  4. Treatment
  5. Rinse
  6. Dry-Off

Components

System Components

Spray tunnels

PP-tank spray stages for degrease, rinse and conversion or other treatment.

Immersion stages

Dip tanks where the part geometry needs immersion rather than spray.

Dry-off

Dry-off oven so the part is dry before powder or paint.

Conveying

Overhead or other handling through every wet stage.

Configuration

Configuration Options

  • Used ahead of powder, liquid and electrophoretic coating
  • Appliance work includes the Midea air-conditioner component line
  • Chemistry remains project-specific with the chemical supplier

FAQ

Pretreatment Systems FAQ

Answers to the questions we are asked most often when a finishing line is being planned.

Is pretreatment always a separate solution?

On many powder lines it is the first process block. It is listed as its own solution when the wash line is the main scope, as on appliance pretreatment jobs.

Pretreatment is a designed wash process. XFS Equipment builds the tanks, sprays, heating and conveyor; the chemistry supplier confirms baths and times with you.
